I have zero filters. With spring coming soon and a new baby coming next month I'd like to get necessary ones so my pics look better. Are there any sets of filters worth buying or is it better to buy separately?

Unfortunately I only have the kit lens with my 350d. I am grabbing a 50mm 1.8 soon though.

I would say wait untill you get a better lens. If you bought one now and then upgrade to another lens, the filter most likely wouldnt fit.

No cheap sets to get a feel for using filters? I won't have decent money to drop on a lens for a while. :wtc:

can get get some cheapo tiffens. but they are very cheap and will flare and ghost like a motherfucker because they arent coated. but if u have some bucks to waste, a few different ND's and a circular polarizer is nice.

but waiting for a better lens is sound theory. most of the canon L's uses 77mm filters so you can just buy 1 or 2 instead of different one for differnt lenses. you COULD use step up rings to take a 58mm lens to a larger filter size, but then you cant use hoods, etc.
