I don't really know many people who are. Most people are skeptical about an anime about tennis, and I definitely was when I first heard about it, but after watching a few episodes, I grew to love the characters and how they interact. Give it a chance. Anyone else have anything to say?

Yeah it's 178 episodes, but you really enjoy all of it. The episodes are usually either the actual tennis matches or training/ridiculous japanese humor filler. It all meshes really well.

Yeah I'm really into tennis because of my parents, but as silly as some of the things are in this series, this anime has made me like tennis more.

is it like Hajimme no Ippo and Hikaru No Go? Those were surprisingly good, but I don't see PoT anywhere close in ranking with them though on the top 200 list.

It's probably in the same class as those. It's one of those animes that you don't think could possibly be good until you give it a chance. It's just my personal preference that I think it's so good.

they're similar and very different at the same time; both have characters that grow in skill and influence throughout the anime but in very different areas.

I can't really choose one over the other, but if you like fighting animes, hajime.
