Just picked up a Kona Muni-Mula. I was looking for a change in pace over those boring ass cardio machines and I want to hit up some trails every once in a while. Any must haves for a newbie? I want to get something that will tell me speed/mileage, any recommendations?

there are a lot of wireless speedos out there, just check out pricepoint.com or jensonusa.com.

also, get yourself a good water pack (i dont recommend camelbak, because they support the sierra club. i use hydrapak brand bags and LOVE them). get a fuller-coverage "skate-style" helmet. get clipless pedals, especially if you're not going to be doing hardcore riding.

I live in a city so I often bike around to get places. I also plan to get into trail biking and mountain biking this spring.

if you have a smart phone with gps, you might be able to find a program that will track your rides and calculate everything for you

didn't know how it would work out when I started lifting, but the added leg strength is pretty boss.
