Man this shit sucks. I've been lifting consistently for 8 months now, and since about a month in my hairline has been receding at a pretty good pace.

Could just be a coincidence but I dunno..I'm only 23 and pretty much every male in my family didn't go bald until they were in their 50s/60s..if at all. Any chance that the test boost from lifting could be accelerating this? And is there anything I can do? I read something about Saw Palmetto :dunno:

probably just a coincidence, and saw palmetto is for the prostate

So there's basically zero chance that weight lifting can accelerate hair loss?

I know that SP is used for prostate health but I thought that it's benefit was reducing the amount of test that is converted to DHT, which is what's responsible for killing off hair follicles.

maybe the test increased due to working out did play a part in your situation, but from what I've read it seems that even with increased test you still need the genes for hairloss (you got the short end of the stick from your family apparently)

look into rogaine and don't let this be a deterrent to working out ( bald broly > skinny broly)

I'll be 23 in May :hs:

It's not noticible yet but I dread the day that I face the mandatory shave.

The other day I asked a girl if I would look good with a shaved head, her response "Ugh no, you'd look like a rapist or something" :wtc:

For sure, in the end it's all genes. I've got the shitty gene that converts a lot of test to DHT, apparently.

Even if I turn in to Captain Picard I basically can't stop lifting at this point. I hate to sound cheesy but it's pretty much changed my life. :hs:

Thats a good look  On the other hand, dont dread it so much, it only seems horrible now that you have hair. As long as you jsut shave your head and dont do a comb-over its not the end of the world, by far.

you don't HAVE to shave, some guys look good with just a buzz

Hell no, no combovers, hence the mandatory shave. Problem is I don't really have the face for a shaved head, I'll basically look like a caveman but whatever. Some girls somewhere have gotta be in to that look right?

From the research Ive done and the articles Ive read I ABSOLUTELY do think that increased test from any source can cause hairloss.

Saw Palmetto is definately worth a try, Ive heard it can work well. Also Try Finasteride.

My hairline started to recede almost immediately when I started to get serious about lifting. Doing a cycle of Test/Deca certainly didnt help. Anyways, Im off the gear and the Saw Palmetto seems to be working well.

Nizoral (a dandruff shampoo) has a main ingredient in it that is proven as a DHT blocker and can help regrow hair, I use it and my hair went from thining to nice and thick.

I also am on finastrinde (propica) too

balding is from your genetics. you can try getting on propercia or rogaine, but that's about all you can do. balding is my motivation to get to where i want to be.

    It happens :dunno:

Luckily I have my mother's side of the hairline and not my fathers because I'd be totally bald already. I still have a lot of hair.

Doesn't bother me too much, my gf doesn't care, and she's the one that matters.

Every male from my mothers side of the family (6 of them) was bald before the age of 25. My hairline has receded past the point of no return. I'm just waiting till I hit that weight I want to, and I'm taking it all off.

I'm going to try the finasteride first though. Its worth a shot. I'd like to keep my hair as long as possible. But, imo, it already looks bad. So if the finasteride doesn't help, its getting shaved.
