hey, i was wondering if any1 had some advice for me....i am 16 years old, and i play football, my position is offensive tackle or defensive end, i am 6'1/6'2 and weigh only 200 lbs...my bench/squat/clean maxes are 230, 355, 190. i would have a better bench but i have seperated my left shoulder about 6x, and tweeked it almost every practice. i need to gain alot more muscle mass on the off season and i was wondering if any1 had any secrets, and i would also like to stay away from a gigantic stomach...i refuse to take creatine or any other pills or powders, except for just generic protien shakes. i have a personal trainer that i have been working w/ for the past 2 and a half years, who has trained pro football players, but i just dont seem to be doing my eating right or something...so if any1 has any advice please help me out.

No point in really taking supplements when you're 16. Just eat food and workout

he's saying that it will probably be a waste for him since his body is still growing and is flowing with testosterone, which, with food and basic protein shakes etc will still allow him to grow

haha at no advice, do alot of cardio to get rid of your stomach, plus do situps/crunches, and eat normal shit that doesnt have alot of fat, and eat the ones that have alot of proteins, vegetable and fruits are a must if you want to keep yourself healthy and energetic. make sure dont eat alot either. football players do eat alot but try to tone that shit down. btw nice numbers for a 16 yr old, quite impressive indeed.

he hasnt helped you out at all.
he basically gave you a cutting routine and you said you wanted to gain more mass so you would be bulking.
eat clean but eat alot. it will be hard with a tweaked shoulder to lift heavy. whats wrong with it? nerve impingement? maybe switch to deadlift instead of cleaning. try to avoid pressing movements till your shoulder heals up.

and i would take creatine. there is no way your friend went to the hospital with kidney problems because of creatine. maybe creatine was one factor, but there must have been alot more going on.

just count your calories and eat alot. if you start gaining fat too fast, lower the calories a little till you find a happy medium.

back when i played (before fucking up my knee and head) i was ur same height and about 40 lbs heavier (same positions too) :bigthumb: basically what i used to do was drink/eat ALOT of soy (not as much fat with bonus protien) the cardio helps out with stamina/speed especially if your doing 30/15 runs (30 second sprint, 15 second jog) which i did for 20-30 minutes a day + conditioning and shit

your #'s are impressive and i know you're only 16 so bulking up may not be the best idea yet (especially if you don't know which position your going to be better, or more suited for yet) if you do end up hitting O-line, eat like crazy... if you stick to end, get stronger, not bigger.

I'm trying to get back into football shape now that i dont have tweeks in my knee anymore (3 years ago) and im basically on the low-fat high fiber diet so i need to lose around 40 pounds to get to a weight i can start bulking up at

stick with your "no supplement" workouts, you're too young (imo) to start using anything for another year or two, although results will come slower, you wont put unnecessary stuff in your body until you need it...

    good luck bro
