I'm moving on-base in a few months, and I'm curious... what are the rules as far as home improvements? Is it like a damn apartment where I can't do anything, or can I paint/put down tile, etc.? These are the 2 bedroom houses.

In the Army we were able to paint the walls but when we moved we had to repaint them back to white. As for putting down tile, all the houses I lived in had nice hardwood floors so I never felt the need to change them.

From what we were told on Eglin, we were able to just about anything decrative wise (except anything electrical like install a ceiling fan) but it had to be returned to the way it was when you left. Every base is different I hear so you may want to check with your housing office.

Also, just a heads up... I've no clue how you are about gardening but we had to map out where we wanted to dig up and plant our flowerbeds and submit it for approval beforehand. You might want to look into this too.
