I'm doing class registrations for next year, and I'm thinking of taking photo, and I'm wondering if there are any good quality manual 35-mm SLR camera's to buy for a fair price at stores or on the internet?

    Thanks,
    Acrylic

When I took photo I used a second-hand one, a Nikkormat from the 70s. Worked for me (till I got my D70 that is).

Well, I have no way to get a second hand one...

Well, I don't want to go to big lengths to get a camera, it's not that big of a deal. I can take it in 12th grade if I really want to.

Canon AE-1 can be found on ebay for well under $100 with a 50mm lens.

All the slr cameras you will find in stores these days wont really be the manual type that will benefit you if you are taking a class.

Pawn shops in my experience usually jack up prices on cameras.

I still love my very first SLR camera, the Pentax K-1000. Great manual only body camera, especially for a starter camera. If you can find one of these, I would recommend it.

If you go with something like a Nikon N75, every lens you get will be compatible with the DSLR's.
