Simple question: Should I (HS sophomore) should bother persuing a girl (HS freshman) that clearly has a real big crush on another guy. The girl and the guy aren't going out or anything, and from the sound of it, the guy barely knows the girl, or doesn't know her at all.

why not? you only learn from experience.

If she does have a crush, then you know it's time for you to move on. Besides, dating someone below your own grade level or age is not very smart at all. Stick with what you know and try to find a girl that's a sophomore as well.

I'll try. Though, I'm not that good with girls in the first place, let alone ones already interested in a different guy.

And galor, I understand that there could be problems with age differences, but generally, from what I've seen, +/- 1 year doesn't have many problems. 2 years apart is kind of iffy, and 3 years is just kind of wierd.

i would just say stay away from high school relationships in general and just fuck every girl you get a chance to, but if you really like her go for it....but just be aware that in about 2 months you will most likely be crying in your room listening to emo

It doesn't really matter either way. High school relationships are bogus and should be avoided like the plague.

Nike would say "Just Do It"

And I agree with that statement in full. :)

I've had my ups and downs in life, but I'm not retarded enough to cry about a HS relationship. I'm well aware that HS relationships aren't to be taken seriously, I just figure I'd go for it, and have fun while it lasts.

Generally yes, but I'd have to disagree that this holds true 100% of the time. I guess I've been one of the lucky ones.

Its fine when you're older, but a 3 year difference in HS = Freshman (14-15) dating a Senior (17-18). When you're 28 and dating a 25 year old, thats different, because you're both at about the same level of maturity at that point. There is a pretty big maturity gap between a 15 year old and an 18 year old.
