Car was stolen early November in SF, and was recovered over the thanksgiving break, to say the least there's not much left of the car.

Just venting my frustration, can't belive someone can just rip off a car and get away with it. Also had a Clifford Advanguard IV on it (1200 dollar alarm) didn't stop them, thinking the car was just towed off.

Heres whats left of the 2000 Integra Type-R #1351 :wtc:

im sorry to hear what happened. i think all thiefs should be killed. about the alarm. no alarm is ever going to stop people from breaking into your car if they want it bad enough they will get it.

alarms are pointless i try to sell them and but i warn ppl that they do NOT secure your call... your car can still be stolen its a risk of driving a nice car. i dont park my s2k anywhere where i dont feel safe. i'd walk to save that thing.

:werd: when i worked at this one car audio shop, people came in all the time thinking an alarm would be the end all solution to protecting their car, and i had to explain it did not gurantee the car would be protected in all cases. they didnt seem to understand this and said it was outrageous to spend $300+ on an alarm system if it cant gurantee the protection of the car :ugh:
people just need to be smart about their cars, dont attract attention to it, park it in a safe and well-lit spot, and dont bump your stereo driving into a parking lot (i see this ALL the time). i use common sense when i park my car and if i dont feel like it will be safe, then i move it.

Sorry about your loss. I had a crappy 1989 camry stolen a couple years ago, and that sucked... I can't imagine what it's like to loose a NICE car. :wtc:

But because I'm mean, I feel it neccessary to point out that they took everything except your fart-can exhaust

yeah they swapped the entire suspension, rotors, rims, everything with something from a civic, along with the tail lights. I imagine the car sat on the side of the road for a few days before someone called it in.

When I went to look at it, they said it looked like just a front collision, until you look inside of the thing

It'd be nice to visit another warehouse where the bodies of the guys who did this are all laid out, with their guts ripped out, heads propped up on mismatched bodies, legs and arms held on backwards with duct tape.

    That'd be sweet.

nope clifford only offers a warranty of something like 90 days, and then it only covers the cost of the alarm

One of the main reasons I sold mine in '02
Owning one of those is fun, I pretty much convinced myself that someday it would be stolen.

Do you get to keep the leftover shell?

You can still make some nice bucks parting it out.

That was a Type-R, and no insurance has the shell though they said it would be going up for public auction, I think starting at $300 dollars.
