Bought an iPod 3 yrs ago, have dropped it, dropped stuff on it, dropped it in water, etc. Still works fine.

Bought a Firelite firewire portable 100GB drive. Used it for all my school work, etc. About 4 months old. NOw i'm getting fucking Data Redundancy Cyclic error or some shit like that :madfawk: FAAAAAAAAWWWK!!!!!
    :madfawk:

How the hell do i fix that? :wtc:

CRC errors suck, mainly cause they can't be fixed

You typically get those when you have too many scratches on a CD and the computer can't read it anymore, but with a CD you can always resurface it. But i don't think you can fix CRC errors on a hard drive

Um. That's 2 completely different things.

Apple doesn't make the HD in the iPod. I think it's Hitachi or some other company.

    Yes, I run all Macs.

first one, the controls stopped working in shuffle mode.

Second one stopped working all together at the end of one of the songs it was playing. It just died.

Third one will sometimes pause on it's own. So i hit play again. 10 seconds later it will do it again. It will have plenty of juice, but will continue doing this over and over until I throw it back on the computer to charge. :ugh:

Then I guess it is a good thing that I resisted my temptation and did not buy iPod shuffles....
