.. in South Dakota. [as per the email, anyway]

From a guy from South Dakota. Pictures taken from his kitchen onto
his patio deck. He wishes to remain anonymous. I have a bad feeling
of what may have happened to the cat. It was watching his little
    kids on the kitchen floor!

yeah... I can't really blame him for taking out a huge predator with kids around. Shame though - such a beautiful animal. Of course, he may have got some meat out of it :x:

Why can't they get domestic cats that big? That would fucking rock.

    Also a good example why carrying 10mm or .45 > 9mm

If he had time to photograph it with what looks to be a decent camera instead of a cameraphone, he had time to grab a rifle or shotgun.

Probably because all cats act more or less the same. The only reason that housecats are good pets is because they're smaller and weaker than humans, they know it, and behave accordingly.

With big cats like that, they usually don't come near humans and their property unless they are sick. When I was younger we found a cougar asleep on my deck. Fish and Wildlife had to come out and kill it.

They are beautiful animals but they are dangerous too.

Harvesting a cougar is the next logical step in my quest to rid the world of all things feline. I've already taken the first few.:kdubbd:

After further thought, I would shoot it.

If I live far enough out in the woods for those to come by the house, it's probably not the first time it has been checking out my family. Those cats arent stupid. It would be back for the kids the next time it saw them outside.

Better to take it out when I have the chance.

I think I'd probably try to call animal control and get them to relocate it, then hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the ass, (pun might have been intended). I'd rather shoot a opossum or raccoon.

Cougar/bobact/catmeat in general is nasty, I doubt he ate anything, unless it was out of curiosity.

Well, shit, if I'm in my house, I'm going to get the SAIGA, now aren't I?

But I still want a 10mm... or at least a gun worthy of .45 Super.

that's weird. Someone told me that a mountainlion stead was the best steak he'd ever had. I'll have to try and remember who it was that told me that and see if I can get more info.

Being in Arizona, try and hunt one yourself sometime, I'm sure you've got just as many as we do here in NM, at worst you go out to McDonald's for food, and have a beautiful pelt or stuffed cat.

A friend's dad shot one, and I asked him how the meat tasted, and he responded "like shit" and offered to cut out a steak for me. I dunno where he cut it from, or if I cooked it wrong, but I ate three bites and threw it away. Don't get me wrong, I'd choke it down if I had to eat it to survive, but I wouldn't eat it when I had other options around.
