Personally, I find the pics a little too dark for my tastes, not enough ambient light. I understand though the difficulties that would have come up if it had have been too bright though, on that dark backdrop. You've got what I think is one of the perfect settings for good car pics though, the gritty industrial areas... :bigthumb: Wish there were some like that near me. :hs:

If you go to my pbase site -- www.pbase.com/tikigodzx -- and look under the galleries and click on "full exif data" it'll show you all my settings used for the shots

    Thanks for the compliments -

all those pix are poorly lit. What time of day were you shooting? What are the specs of the shots? You may have benefitted from long exposures.

lighting looks exactly like i wanted it for all those pics - considering the car is pure toner white (makes super white look yellow) blowing out the details on the car was the higher concern. As for what time the pics were taken - right at 6pm - sun wasnt down yet but very low - very overcast as well.

Tikigod, I really like your site! What gallery software do you use and does it include the "full exif data" info or is that something seperate with the camera? Sorry, I am kinda new to all of this. Thanks.

PS - The pics look awesome!

Wrong. The exposure is perfect and the light is perfect for the intended effect. What you're complaining about is the lack of shadow detail. Not every car shot needs fill flash or details in the area around the car. These shots were taken at the ideal time of day, when there is no direct sunlight. Look at any studio shot of cars and you'll see that the photographer strives to emulate this light by using diffused overhead lighting. The only pic that I don't really care for is the third one, too much detail in the surrounding area that detracts the eye.

    Great job.
