    For graphics and scripting/programming, you can't beat a Mac. Since it's unix-based and has a real unix commandline, it's excellent for coding, and it's well-known that Macs are excellent for graphics applications. You say you don't game, so you won't be concerned about the lack of games for Mac.

    They are a little more expensive than the one you posted (12" iBook starts at $1,199 Canadian on student price), but still fairly reasonable.
