GUN another knife thread (blade options)

    is there any reason, other than looks, that one would choose a tanto blade over a standard?

    As a purely killing weapon the Tanto blade is less likely to break a tip off. Also when slicing the tanto blade is stronger at the tip. As an all around utility blade it sucks.

    Pretty much spot on, has a really strong tip for peircing and such but for deep cutting it doesnt work as well since it usually has a thick spine, that and its harder to make a straight cut with it compared to a clip point or drop point.
