lately i've come to the bitter realization that i don't have the self-discipline and strive to fit my aspirations. the military was the first thing that came to mind. i just feel that it would make me a better person, more responsible and self-sufficient.

anyway, i've decided on the Air Force, but i'm still unclear about a few things. how long are the contracts? once the contract is over, am i done? what can i expect after graduation basic training?

Most all contracts are 4 years, some specific jobs offer a 6 year option though. Once you finish your 4 years you have another 4 of being on "Inactive reserve" which you don't have to do anything but if WWIII were to start up then you'd get called back, but it's highly unlikely. After basic training you go straight to tech school, which the duration, location, etc depends on the job you choose.

    Hope that helped..

there are all kinds of contracts based on how long you want to be in and what you want to do. you need to goto meps and see what they have for you...

remember, if anyone promises you something, make SURE it is on the final document you are going to sign before you are in for sure. if it isnt, then you are not going to get it!

I thought there was a lack of that. :dunno:
Maybe, the AF doesn't have to do that because our folks are disciplined enough to take care of their stuff. :mamoru:
