I just sold my "beater" AR and have a new project underway. Come mid next week, I'll have the following; this is a build going on a spare lower:

    Bushmaster lower
    VLTOR OD Clubfoot telestock
    GG&G single pt. sling loop
    Tango Down pistol grip
    LMT 14.5 upper w/ Phantom
    Knights RAS
    Tango Down VFG
Surefire M962 w/ tapeswitch and Turbo Head
    Aimpoint CompM
    A.R.M.S. #40
    A.R.M.S. #22M68 w/ Cantilever spacer

Can't wait for the damn upper to get here. Got a few accessories on the way, too. The "parts box" wasn't too friendly this time around.

SBR for a 14.5"? Not worth the money. You're gonna add a FH, right? If that's the case, pin the puppy and save the money and trouble.

Nope. I'm eventually going to get an 11.5" upper as well. I'm doing the SBR now, while the DA is feeling generous. He kind of changes his mind a lot.

Also, I despise permanently pinned flash hiders. For me, the 14.5" barrel is to give me a little bit of maneuverability, but still have a lot of versatility. I've already got a 16" upper, so I don't need another one with a shorter barrel and a permanently attached muzzle device. I'm going to build the 11.5" for my indoor gun, unless 6.8 takes off next year (I say that every year). Then I'll make an 11.5" 6.8 my all-around upper. I will be building a 16" midlength, but just because I'm phasing out 16" carbine-length gas systems.
