I'm getting this in the near future so I would like some feedback. Thanks in advance
looks nice, the board only has 1 IDE port to support 2 devices, why waste one of those spots on a DVD drive when SATA disc drives are practically the same price
Good point. I will make the change
Because not all computers can boot from SATA DVD drives. Make sure nobody has complained about that problem with the motherboard you're getting.
Besides, he's never going to use those IDE connectors for hard drives, not these days anyway.
Very true...all my HD's are SATA

I assume you already have the other components.
Kind of sucks when you buy those,... then by end of this year or early January,.... X48, Penryn, and Geforce 9 Series are all out.
#1 The Penryn are probably going be expensive
#2 The Geforce 9 are probably going be expensive.
Yes 30" monitor and 3 x 500GB Hard drives. I think I'm good with those.
Then get the IDE disc drive, I just figured if you were trying to recycle HDDs they would be IDE
@ retail prices, that Q9300 should be around $280, which is the same as the Q6600 Kentsfield. But of course, the Q9450 is ftw.
As for the Geforce 9 Series, it should be priced the same as the 8 series when those came out.
This of course will make the 8 series prices go down which you can take advantage off.
Wait for Nov 19, Nvidia is announcing the details.
That E8500 is going to be crazy popular.
3.1ghz, 6mb cache, and only 65 watts.
Again, these are manufacturer's prices. Retail prices would be more.
HD9500WCGDBOX Phenom X4 9500 2.2GHz (4MB,95W,AM2) box $247.00
HD9600WCGDBOX Phenom X4 9600 2.3GHz (4MB,95W,AM2) box $278.00
HD9700XAGDBOX Phenom X4 9700 2.4GHz (4MB,125W,AM2) box $288.00
No word from the Phenom tri-core yet.
Pretty much like Barcelona, the fastest Phenom only reached 2.4GHz
Faster chips would probably be out by mid next year,.. which btw is in time for the Intel Penryn price cuts.
Sucks for AMD right now.
buy.com has some d9 crucial ballistix 2x1gb for $49 shipped.
uhhhh i dunno i just bought it lol. heres the link.
more cores = better
OC that low end quad just like I did to my Q6600
