Ive gown the girl with the bigger tits for about 6-7 years now, and we are cool. She wanted to bring her friend along and im like, sure whatever. She kept goin for this sexy "fuck me" look. I tried telling her it looked stupid, but she didnt listen. How the hell do I tell them to knock it the hell off? Or if the insist, how do I help them make the pose look better?

Oh, and how did I do other than the facial expressions? :noes: (I already know - Focus on the eyes. Fucking D40 wont autofocus the 50mm so it was a bitch at times. But the poses were decent, so I processed them anyway.)

I like 1 and 9 though #1 I'd the crop all the way to her back on the left hand side and 9 needed a hair more aperture. The rest just look meh, oof, harsh lighting.

i like 2, 7, and 9. i like the black and white ones the most cuz they [to me] look like they have some feeling to them. they could almost be part of a story. 9 i just like cuz its tight, little DOF, and good catchlight.

i would trash 6 tho, its focused on the couch...

The main issues here are focus and sharpness. Exposures look good, but some may have slight color issues. Other than that, nice effort. She's cute.

yeah, that was what I saw when I was going through them... the focusing was way off.

    Also, the 50mm doesn't autofocus? :eek4:

Is that the case with any fixed aperture lenses?

i take it you mean fixed focal length [prime] lens... the 50mm 1.8 im guessing. your af 50mm 1.8 should auto focus even on the d40. now, the only experience i have with nikon are my AI lenses, which do not auto focus...so ill leave it up to the nikon crew to figure that out.

the 50mm will not af on the d40.

only AF-S lenses will af with it, since it doesn't have a motor drive.

Your biggest downfall in these shots is the poor focus. I'm willing to attribute that to the lack of AF. It really is hard to shoot portraits on manual focus. Especially with the shallow dof of something like a 50mm...

If I were you i'd prolly only use af-s lenses, and would sell the 50mm.

It's really not a good choice in your situation.

on a d40 I don't think it does....it does on my XT it will hunt sometimes though I kinda prefer to manual focus it in low light

idn personally i prefer to manual focus with portraits. even something at 200mm @ f/2.8, its hard to get your eyes in focus if you let the camera do the thinking. ive had many pictures come out where the tip of the nose is in in perfect focus but have soft eyes.

holy crap, flush #6 the focus is really out (worse than other ones)

I like #10, on most of other pics, we see the suntan line and it's not really nice, on #10 she's hot IMO.

yea, but i always have my camera on center focus and my L glass has full time manual override so ive just gotten used to focusing on the center and making minor adjustments manually. you also have to remember, im using an elan 7...those cameras arent very smart. also when i use my nikon its manual only. just got used to it i guess.

Yep, those were my same thoughts. Focus seems off, but they seem to be a good start.

Cute/hot girl. Good job on catching the expressions, but I don't care for the busy backgrounds and lighting.
