I can get it shipped for $1200. It's cheap compared to a Noveske or POF, which are more like $2k.

it's also nothing special like the gas piston POF. just build one yourself. you could have all the bells and whistles u want for less than 900

i guess 1,200 is cheap in terms of what you could potentially get for an AR but you can certainly save much more depending on what you get :dunno:

I'm open to other rifles with quad rails and flip down sights.

I'm sure 1.5k is cheap compared to what you could spend on an AR titanium lower, piston driven upper, floating quad rail, m16 bolt, ACE skeleton stock and so on

but you could spend much less on an AR and still have something comparable to that

If it's so much cheaper to just buy the pieces and put one together yourself and it's so much better why doesn't everybody just do that? Am I missing something here?:dunno:

All the ones I see that are "cheap" and come assembled are $1200 and there's ones a good bit more than that. everybody seems to say you can save several hundred and get a better one just buying pieces individually though?

Figuring in the cost of the Troy rail and BUIS, the MP15T is a decent buy and saves you doing the assembly.

IIRC $1500 was the MSRP. I thought I saw them at my local gun shop for around $900 new but I don't know if that was stripped down model or not.

So when you buy the pieces is there more to it than just buying a complete and taking it apart the whole to clean ect. and you're saying it requires some tools ect to do? That would explain why it's hundreds cheaper...

Nothing special needed to build a stripped lower, upper you should use a vise block and the proper wrench but you can fabricate your own if needed.

So say i wanted to build one that looks pretty nice like that one above what am I looking at price wise and of the other features you guys keeping talking about w/ the gas/piston ect what's the pro con's on all that and pricing difference?

For instance this one looks pretty nice I think? Not as mean as the 556 or the M&P though

I have the M&P with the fixed front sight and carry handle. Damn good gun, and accurate as you could ever want. It's no Les Baer , but it gets the job done just fine. $1200 shipped is a good price too.

You could do one similar to the M&P above for around $1000. If you keep cruising the arfcom EE you might come across some deals and save a little more if your willing to go with some lightly used parts. Piston AR's (POF, Sig, HK) they say are more reliable less prone to fouling and what not, which for general range use if you clean your AR regularly you shouldn't have that problem with the traditional ones. Piston AR's are also more pricey by a few hundred bucks.

IIRC, S&W uses Stag products and rebadges them for their M&P lineup, you can get one very similarly outfitted for about $800

They all come from the same plant, yes. I think RRA or Bushie (or one of the other big names) come from the same place as well.

RRA, and a few others, Bushys come from another plant I think the Remingtons will be coming out of the Bushy one though.
