    Most of the threads here have to do with people getting shit faced and such and how it might affect their progress.

    I used to not drink much at all, but now I am going out more with friends since a lot of them are/recently turned 21. I keep a pretty strict diet, my workouts are good, etc.. So if I have 1 or 2 lite beers 3 days a week is this really going to pose a problem if my daily caloric count allows it? I never really have more than one or two.

    So basically if I still keep my intended calories, will a lite beer or two hurt me at all? I am just concerned because I know alcohol can hurt test/slow fat burning, etc...

    It's not good for you, do a quick google search. It's better to drink a shit ton of hard alk once a month than drink beer three nights a week.

    drank a 40 and now ive been drinking bacardi with diet soda with my homeboy ...



    and in ~10 hours im supposed to deadlift :o fuck it... no yack no gain? :dunno:


    at least i get to look forward to trying muscle milk for the first time tomorrow morning... hopefully it'll fix me to the point that i can lift.

    its not the nutritional info... its the alcohol. Having a couple of beers after work a few nights a week is one of the worst things you can do for your metabolism

    Wow, I had no idea!

    I know Chris3G posted that link (I actually saved it to my Email) on how bad alcohol actually is for lifting/diet.

    I guess I should stop the couple of beers a few nights a week. I know ideally that not drinking at all would be best, but I am only 21.
    I suppose that moving onto drinking 5 or 6 beers once every 2 weeks would be better right?

    I think it has to do with the fact that alcohol is metabolized as a priority by the liver. While the liver has to metabolize alcohol, it cannot metabolize fat, which is a problem for those who rely on fat burning for energy (if you're taking few carbs in a low-carb diet or if your just in a calorie deficit). It has a bunch of other effects but I think it's the most important in the short term as far as health/fitness goes.

    I think i am eating enough though... I'm gaining weight slowly but surely. I need to work my tri's better because my bench sucks balls because of them. Everything else is progressing nicely though.


    and drinking twice a week ftl.
