Well I should rephrase perhaps. I meant dying as in the quality and such. Everything is turning into a Micheal Bay-esque of sorts. Its really starting to piss me off :dunno:

Theres so MUCH of it now. People are tossing money everywhere and studios that used to eek out quality now spew rubbish with few gems. Maybe im just a hater but I :dunno:

Agreed! There aren't very many shows these days that I actually want to watch. I've been reading more manga and watching more J-drama's then anime.

Rap hasn't been good since the mid 90's. :hsugh:

Anime on the other hand...ALWAYS has something memorable every year.

Anime has always had a large abundance of garbage compared to the masterpieces. Finding the masterpieces is always worth it.

I got spoiled by not watching for several years and being able to watch a bunch of great series back to back. There's always at least one show a season that's at least fun to watch.

when I got into anime back in 2003 or 2004, I was really enjoying it because there had been so many good series up until that point to watch. then i realized after watching those gems that the rate at which good anime comes out is terribly slow and that it all ends up being repetitive as well.

so now i don't watch any anime. either it's a rehash of old themes/stories or it's just putrid garbage pandering to teeny bopper morons.

this is any different from the past...how?

do you have any idea what volume of manga and anime is produced each year? it's absolutely staggering.

those of us outside of japan, without direct lines/satellite hookups, who don't actually speak japanese are left to watch what the subbers deem worthy of effort. that narrows the field a bit, but it seems like sub groups are either turning out more work, or finding more people... that means we're getting more stuff to sift through and bitch about on the internet. it's not a question of how much crap they are producing. it's a question of how much crap is availed to us.

It's easy to look back and only think of the good ones. You forget how much shit you had to sift through to find those gems at the time.

Sounds like you're getting old and nostalgic.

Same! Don't get me wrong there are some EXCELLENT manga titles coming out still. But with anime its either hashed to shit (when converting from the manga) or unique titles mostly are weak. A few are great though. It just feels like each year I get less and less excited :hsd:

It realy hit me when Eva was announced to go into reproduction. Like all the rappers from back in the day still coming out with music to make the monies. Whyyyyy?

To be fair I somewhat agree with this statement but I am still strong on my point. I took a break from anime for about 6 years (only recently started watching this summer) and I feel that I've almost exhausted what real gems are out there that have been produced within that space of absence.
