I noticed about a week ago that my animations stopped working (smilies, avators etc) in both IE and FF. I updated Java and still didn't fix it. I checked to make sure the "Play animations" option was checked in the IE options and it was. I'm at a loss as to what it could be....Ideas??? :wtc:

do you have a 3rd party "firewall" or spyware/adware tool? many (such as zonealarm) will strip gifs of all but the first frame (take away any animation)

    you need to disable them.

I wonder if your windows file associations didn't just get screwed with.

Did you run some sort of "drive cleaner" recently?

Try right clicking the gif and selecting open with Windows picture and fax viewer.

I haven't run any 3rd party cleaners, just the regular Windows one. Any gifs on my computer work fine, its just when they're on a site that they don't work.
