So my Lowepro bag took a 3' dive today along with my Digital Rebel XT, Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS, 80Gb iPod along with some other things. The camera was kept in the upper zipper portion for quick access whilst the 70-300 was kept in the lower compartment along with some filters and covers. When it fell it landed bag face down slamming the camera into the iPod and floor (iPod was in the little front zipper). When I pulled it out the iPod was fine, 70-300 was fine, camera was fine, kit lens had its focusing ring pushed in at an angle borking it good. Tested everything else and they work fine. If anything it played out how I unfortunately would've hoped a fall would be handled. Sucks tho because I felt I pulled some decent shots off with that thing. Kept me from spending more. So I guess this is going to be one of those "best replacement kit/walk-around lens under $400" posts. But I'll thumb through the many already created first.
