So I have an office job. I usually have a snack (tuna and avocado) before lunch at about 10:30-11, and then have lunch at about 1230.

I sometimes take over an hour to eat the snack, and yes it makes my room smell like fish. This is due to me walking in and out of the office doing stuff. Most of the time I do finish it in like 15 minutes. So if i finish my snack at 12, is there a problem with starting my lunch so soon at 12:30? By then, I'm not really hungry, but I don't want to drag my lunch on too long so that I can't have another snack before I leave work. So I somewhat force-feed myself.

I guess the essential question is, what's the difference to metabolism if you drag on meals for an hour versus finishing it in 15 minutes? I figure it would only help your metabolism, but I could be wrong.

I could be completely wrong, but I'd think that if anything, eating a meal over a longer period of time would just make your blood sugar levels a bit more stable than if you were to eat the entire meal all at once..

Can you not eat your snack earlier, say finishing it at around 10:30 or a little earlier? That would be optimal.
