I saw the thread about this in Illinois, but it's far more reaching that that. We really need to bear down on our legislators or we're going to be fucked. I'm writing and emailing my Representative and Senator ASAP!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states, including Illinois and Indiana, requires all ammunition to be encoded in a data base of all ammunition sales, so they will know how much you buy and in what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011, including hand loaded ammo. They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more. If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

I'm pretty sure this didn't pass. Too tired to look it up tonight, but I remember seeing it a while ago and I don't think it was very successful in any of the states.

I'd be grateful if, when you get the chance, you could look it up and tell us what you saw. Is this a recent introduction or is it old news?

Doesn't mean we should ignore them. Call your rep and make sure they know you don't want this shit. If no one speaks up they will assume its OK.

Like Keesh said, this is old news. If you're just hearing about it you're not staying on top of firearms legislation, something that will probably be even more important than usual in the coming years.

Some of you have probably see the author of this article post on other forums before.
Nothing but sleazy dirty fucks who want to piss on the constitution to turn a tidy profit as a government enforced monopoly.

The WA bill dies a quick and quiet death fortunately. I'm sure someone will try it again.

Nice little racket they're trying to get going. ALL ammunition must be coded using OUR technology which we will license out to ammo manufacturers.

Have none of these fuckers taken a physics lesson, let alone SEEN a bullet after impact? Any scoring or microstamping is bound to be mangled beyond recognition. Not to mention the microstamp on the firing pin will probably wear down after 100 rounds or less.
