Discussion in 'On Topic' started by strong like bull, Apr 2, 2006.

  1. Regarding ammo that's in boxes like this

Is there any chance for the bullets to strike a primer and make it go off in the box?

I keep alot of my reloads loose in ammo cans like that, it would an extremely hard hit to do it, and even then you've got better chance of winning 300 million lotto.

  3. well, say you were transfering it and dropped it on the ground :dunno:

Very extremely unlikely, I've ordered ammo thats come loose before in ammo cans, thats came UPS, I'm sure they got all tossed around by UPS clowns and nothings ever happend nor have I ever heard of it happening to anyone else.

The firing pin has to hit the primer HARD. Hard enough to break your finger if it happened to be in the way. I doubt it's possible to make a bullet go off using another bullet (unless you shot the primer :mamoru:).

Not only that, but you'd combine the probability of such a hard impact AND the probability of 2 bullets being lined up perfectly so the tip of one is right up against the primer of another. No way it could happen.

And even then it would just cook off. It's not like the bullet will shoot out and hit someone.

  10. alright that's good to know :)
