Just wondering if anyone else empties all there factory ammo boxes into the ammo bins? I just dropped 1700 rounds of .40 cal into a .50 call ammo bin. Man does it save a ton of room. As far as storage I see no downside, are there any?

I have my ammo organized as such and it seems much more reasonable to contend with in moving etc. plus a full bin full of .40 is :naughty:

Anything I should be aware of in storing this way?

probably a moot point but just looking for ideas...I couldn't just do the boxes in the bins as I had 34 boxes...

My reloads get dumped into ammo cans. When its time to go to the range I scoop out a couple peanut butter jars full.

I leave my factory ammo boxed though so if I have any issues I can seperate out that lot from the other

It's better for storage, but it will now be a bitch to keep track of how many rounds you have, unless you somehow keep a record of how many rounds you've taken out.

I NEVER understood seeing noobs at a match take WWB/Factory ammo, and place them into separate plastic ammo boxes. I always thought they were poseur reloaders, lol.

I'm too lazy. I used to just dump my reloads into a couple of freezer bags that held 200 rounds at a time. But with my match ammo, it's actually good practice to put them ammo down into ammo boxes so I can check for high primers, reveresed primers, missing primers, etc.

Rifle stuff I generally keep in ammo boxes, with load info scribbled on the top. Easier to keep things organized.

Blaster stuff (or high-volume rifle) is kept in ammo cans.

I keep everything in cans. Partly because my range 'bag' is also a can :mamoru:
