    um the wrestler says this about the armbar

    Mr. Leonard – "That position, it seems to me, would be almost impossible to secure. I do not see how a strong arm could be bent back so as to injure it. You Japanese are clever and scientific; you evidently have the quality of muscle, upon which both you and we put no little emphasis. But I have yet to see anything that you can show me which we could not match here in America, and in some respects improve upon."

    I noticed that the armbar is the main technique listed there that is visible in today's MMA world (I don't know much about grappling-only style competitions and what's popular/common there, but I'd imagine it's more of the same)... A lot of that stuff simply looks too technical.
