    sup bitches

    is there a noticable increase in speed/performance from an amd64 3000+ compared to a amd64 3400+? i currently have a p4 2.4ghz and am either going to get a 64 3000+ or 64 3400+. is there a big difference between them in speed/performance or should i just get a 3000?

id just stick with the 3000. The increase in performance youd get from a 3400 prolly isn't worth the money you'll pay for it

I think the 3400 has a 1MB L2 cache and the 3000 has a 512 cache. 3400 is also way more expensive. if you have the money go for it.

Incorrect... according to www.amd.com, the only athlon 64 with 1MB of L2 is the 3700+.

edit - my bad... after further inspection, the models with 1MB are 3200+ up. thusly a 3200+ may be the best buy here. Damn confusing site.

1MB L2 cache gives about 5% improvement over 512KB L2 Cache, and that only shows in benchmarks
