What do you guys think of the Mobile Athlon chips? Like all systems with AMD chips they are dirt cheap compared to their Intel counterparts. But how are they on performance and battery life? Anybody have any experience with them??

As in to be used in a laptop? (They can also be used in normal tower PC's)

They aren't going to perform (ie better battery life) than say a centrino (mobile pentium) processor, but they may be better than a pentium 4 mobile proc.

Pentium Mobile > Athlon Mobile > Pentium

Centrino has to do with the whole laptop, the actual processor is a Pentium Mobile.

I know that's why I put the proper name in quotes :big grin:

Some people also then ask, what's centrino??? So that simplifies things.
