I was looking to upgrade my current 1.53 AMD proc with this...

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-484&depa=1

Is this a good deal, or is there another AMD64 processor that has better value? I think I want to make the upgrade to 64, although it doesn't have much use at the time... correct?

About motherboards, could someone recommend one that supports AMD64? I tried looking around on Newegg and unfortuntaly they didn't have any mobos with 4 RAM slots. :wtc:

That one's good, you should go for a socket 939 though...
and personally i think the 3500+ is the price sweet spot right now for those

they should, I actually have one in my computer right now :bigthumb:
look at the MSI or the Asus

I would just go with an a8v deluxe/a64 3200+/3500+ 939 90 nm. It's a little slower, but more overclocking potential, right? The a8v also has 4 ram slots, and since it's 939 there's room for upgrades later on, without having to replace the mobo. I see no 4x dimm mobos for 754 procs though.
