    Mine was a '82 Limited wagon with 150k. Extremely capable, stout and more fun that it should have been. Switching to 4WD at any speed on any surface was unheard of when it was new.

    They were about 20 years ahead of their time. And you'll never see a stock Subaru do anything like that.

    Mine was identical except it was burgundy and had the stock wheels.

    Ugly beyond belief, but pretty neat really. Even then they were ugly. It was almost like they wanted them to be ugly. It seems like they were always in washed out looking 1970's colors, like orange, brown, dark red w/black, etc.
