I couldn't help myself. I bought one the day they came out. Haven't charged me yet, just waiting on them to ship.

Those are going to be really spiffy when they finally get around to making one with a folding oled screen.

Paperbacks are only about $2.00 off at the most from what you'd buy in the store, alot are the same price as what the stores sell them at. Hardcovers are about $13.00 or so, sometimes cheaper

Huh. I'd rather read a real book.

There's so much free PDF content I read, that it makes sense for me.

it would make sense for me if the price was like $200-250

at $500.. fuck that. you can get a 10" netbook for less than that. hell, you can get a 12" netbook for less than that.

Yes, but the netbook won't run for a week and the screen resolution will be shit by comparison.

As a dedicated PDF reader, it's definitely expensive, but perfectly-suited to the task nonetheless. And keep in mind that you get free cellular data service for the life of the product.

A netbook isn't very good for reading books and PDFs on, and I already have a macbook. Paper is better, which the Kindle is like. And the ability to lookup stuff on wikipedia from anywhere, at any time is just killer. I can cart it around without concern about it breaking because there is no HD.

Its just kinda nice all round. I usually cart around three books, and my bag is overflowing from them. I always print and lose PDF papers and never end up reading them. The Kindle solves a real problem for me.

Anyway, since you bought one, let me know what you think of it when you get it.
