any one hear about this? I heard it from a friend that as of today its legal.
cool, din thomas is happy!
I actually talked about it with him at some event. His take on the matter was that it was nothing more then exhibition / sparring so he should have been able to do it. Talked about how he was just helping the up and comers out because the drive up to GA is pretty far.
whats the difference between amateur and professional? headgear and shin pads?
In NJ its shin pads and 7oz gloves. You can't kick to the head while standing, no elbows ever, and you can't hit the face of a downed opponent. I believe you might also get a standing 8 count if you are knocked down in a standup exchange.
And obviously you aren't paid for an am fight. I think Tim said you get paid for amateur fights around him though.
Shouldn't you be worrying more about the hurricane?
Same here basically but no shin pads and you are allowed to strike the face of a downed oponent.
You dont get paid for amat fights you do however get 'expenses.'
eh what hurricane?
