2 is slightly blown out and OOF, probably because of the heat in the air. Just figured it looked interesting....but probably would have turned out better if it weren't so tight. 1 is slightly OOF.

The rest are in focus......I think my free Flickr account didn't help out any. :o

have you ever shot any auto racing? if so do you consider it harder to get good shots of cycles?

Is that VIR? The last shot of the esses looks like it.

One thing I'd suggest is to work into the tight shots some looser shots that allow you to really see the track. Many tracks are very nice and have unique aspects of them which you should accentuate. Dont always get tight and produce the "any track USA" type shots. Show us the layout, show us the background, show us the track and the turns and hills and layout the riders are dealing with.

Tight shots are nice and are important, but its also good to show the diversity that wider shots can provide.

    Things like:

And if that indeed is VIR, here are some shots like that from VIR:

Most of the shots are technically pretty good though. There are a couple that dont look like their entirely sharp, but most are pretty good.

    For what?
I've shot all types of auto racing. IMO nothing is hard, as long as you have several different spots/angles to shoot from.....so you don't get too repetitive. The hardest 'action' shots I think possible are how I learned to pan......remote control cars. Not the gay on road stuff.....the buggies/truggies in the dirt. From 0-50mph in about 25ft...and as unpredictable as a crackhead.
Thanks. Yeah I generally try to get a few shots that aren't tight, but last year I seemed to have gone overboard with it. This year I concentrated more on shooting tight....with panning. More or less just trying out different techniques.

I'll post up some of the shots that aren't so tight shortly.
