?? I feel like I haven't accomplished anything or I'm not doing something right if it doesn't burn or feel sore in the morning--is this normal to feel this way?

i only really get sore when i havent worked a muscle very hard, or worked it at all for a long time.

my hams have been sore since monday.. i can barely walk its so terrible.

i read on here you don't really need to feel the pain.. i still always wondered if its better or not.

Then up the weight every 2 weeks.

That, along with regular routine modulation; you should be nice and sore for everyday besides the few following the new roation...

edit: how long have you been working out

Aye, no need for the redface...

Ive been reading this forum and general fitness knowledge since I was 15. Worked out from 15-18 seriously. Slacked for two years. Ironically ive been working out, again seriously, since that exact date..no shit, feb 13-15.

Anyway, ive been implementing my old and new knowledge, upping my wieght every 2 weeks and changing up my routine and ive been cosistently sore. Ive noticed when I just go through the motions the that soreness isnt as lucid. Make sure you push yourself

:h5: Thanks for the advice and help broski!! What is your routine? I want to stay sore all the time and make sure that i am doing things right. I have gained 10-12 lbs since i started back in Feb and they seem to be very clean gains. I didn't start taking creatine til about ~2weeks ago and already seeing a little bit of change. I just want to get jacked--but want it done the right way. When i get home i plan on amping it up a little though because the food i want and ened will be more readily available.

its not a requirement for progress by any means or an indicator, but for me i am always sore just about. but i do a lot of higher rep with heavy psosible weight stuff.

Good progress and good news on the diet:bigthumb:

Its much eaiser to eat clean and at proper intervals when you a full kitchen and a stocked fridge. As for my progress im at about the same. Gained about 10lbs and dropped about 10 fat. Routine is much like the one in the sticky, slightly modifyed to fit my specifics.

Keep it up, ill be there with ya brohemskiseph.

-And like nudes just said; consistently throwing around the heavy stuff is the best way to keep yourself in check/sore. As for modulation, just switch it up every few weeks. Stuff like going from BB to dumbells, 3x12 medium to 5x5 heavy, constantly push and challenge yourself. But im sure you've heard all this before. :hs:

:h5: Broceratops. What weight are you at right now? I am currently sitting at 181-183. The hardest thing for me is that I'm a form Nazi. I hate working out if I don't have good form and it seems like whenever I go up in weight just slightly, My form slacks. I just want to make sure that I am lifting with correct form and getting the most gains as possible.

    --Take for example-my shoulders

When I do side lifts my shit hurts if i use the 30's but the 25's are just fine and my form is good. My form is best with 20's but i am trying to push it higher. When I throw the 25's i get an arch in my lower back and my form slacks--making me want to use the 20's.

--Bottom line I guess would be to ask this--if my form slacks in Free weights and I get a good Soreness the next day VS GOOD form with cable or machine weights with little to no soreness--what should I do?

    Same.

I don't subscribe to the 'if you never get sore that's fine' mentality. Sure, being sore isn't the end all be all to decide if you are getting a good workout, but IMO it's a dam good indicator. Not to mention I love the feeling.

I don't think enough credit is given to soreness after working out.

Haven't felt this sore in my back in a while, then again I haven't pushed it this hard in a while on purpose.

Yeah, and look at the people in the video. I don't trust personal trainers that weight 110 lbs.
