I have been trying to find ways to get back into shape, and found that running and jogging are not options for me, regardless of environment.

I suffer from severe acid reflux, and with splashing up the esophagus the body's natural response is to close airways. I cramp up, tire early, and breathe badly while doing either exercise.

Any aerobic alternatives for the same benefit that don't require insane forms of equipment?

How much equipment can you handle? How about a metal bar with heavy things on the ends? :hsugh:

are you sure that you can't ease into this?

try jogging until you first feel the bad effects. do it again the next day and see if you can go longer, and keep going after that. i guess that definitely is a problem if you feel the effects at the same point of jogging every time, but that shouldn't be the case. you might want to talk to your doctor about that if it is.

running is hard. most people hate it including me, but you do it anyway. it starts off very hard and gradually gets easier. you don't have to learn to like it, but you do it anyway.

I don't know for sure. Anyway, apparently you just run for extended periods of time. It's wild I guess.

try cycling, you don't need a super expensive bike and it is much better on your knees anyways. just be sure to take it easy, and maybe see a doctor and see if there is medication you could take or something.

I can't put down my cardio addiction. I've never been able to convince myself that lifting alone will keep my stomach in check.

I'm not racing to numbers. I think that would be detrimental to my long term interests of being able to be jacked in the box for the majority of my adult life.

Not to mention, I'm not saying my knee surgery was as bad as a full knee replacement; but the list between mine and it is pretty damn short.

That said, I have access to way more toys than you, and a better lifting environment. I don't think you want any of this, even considering I'm not racing to numbers!
