Any recommendations for butter alternatives? I'm thinking the preference would be something other than margarine with partially hydroginated soybean oil.

I've seen some recommendations for "I Can't Believe it's not Butter - Spray". I'm looking for a substitute during cooking so I need it to be in sticks or a tub. Those versions of "I Can't Believe it's not Butter" contain the aforementioned partially hydroginated soybean oil.

I'm thinking maybe Promise spread or Smart Start?

Wow, thanks for the info. I did see a tub of Smart Balance at the store today that listed Flax oil. I'll give that one try.

the omega-3 versions only have 32mg of epa/dha per serving so i wouldn't worry about that aspect of it too much, it's not like it is going to replace your fish oil pills.
