I thought the movies felt quite a bit the same even though the subject matter was different. If you can ignore the fact that no one gets naked in Crazy Heart and not give points to The Wrestler for Tomei's tits ...

    What does everyone think?

I thought Bridges in Crazy Heart was perfect in his roll, but Rourke really fit his also.

I liked Crazy Heart more probably because I connect a little more with it.

Both were good movies that had showed off some really great talent.
Both movies got crazy good reviews on RT also.

I definitely recommend Crazy Heart if you are looking for a story, and not just action.

I loved Crazy Heart, I was disappointed it didn't get an Oscar nod. I enjoyed The Wrestler, but I think the character was more cartoonish. I thought Bridges was terrific. I just watched him in Iron Man this weekend. He has great range

really? you thought randy was cartoonish? he was fucking brutal is what he was. there wasn't any cartoonishness about him. he was a broken shell of a man desperately hanging on to the one thing he had in life that was better than working behind a deli counter or packing boxes. that movie was harsh and your tastes are vastly different than mine if you thought crazy heart was oscar worthy.

Finally caught Crazy Heart and I would say overall I enjoyed The Wrestler more, but Jeff Bridges was phenomenal in that movie. He played the character to a T and his singing voice really carries off the part well. Colin Farrell was a surprise as the part of Tommy Sweet.
You can't go wrong with either movie.

Crazy Heart was slightly less uncomfortable overall...if that makes sense.

These are honestly the best two movies that have come out in the last couple of years. They were both amazing but I'd have to give the slight edge to The Wrestler. It's funny, the first time I watched the trailer for Crazy Heart I immediately predicted (accurately as it turned out) that Jeff Bridges was going to win an Oscar just because it's the same 'down-and-out loser makes a comeback' story that we saw in The Wrestler. Either way, GREAT MOVIES.
