3 Day event called Rock n Racquets. It was all for charity and mostly for the Andy Roddick Foundation. It went to three different cities. I was there for Louisville and Knoxville. These are all from Knoxville.

Players were Andy Roddick, Serena Williams, John Isner, and Caroline Wozniacki.

Gavin Rossdale performed during a break.

the wide angle distorted people in some of the early pics. other than that, i like the pics, but none really stand out as award winning.

I could see some of them being used in a magazine or newspaper though

    Because I hate flash.

    IBflames

For grip/grin shots that the client wants, Ill use it but for myself and everything else I stay away from it.

Like I said, Im just an accounting major that is fortunate enough to get some stuff noticed by some people. My style works for me, them, and I enjoy doing it so Im not really looking to change it.

It really was an awesome opportunity. How many times do you get to talk Fantasy Football with a world champion? :bigthumb:

niiiiiiice, 2nd from the end is very cool.
i'd imagine that's a rare shot since most tennis is played outdoors, and the stands would normally be packed instead of dark.

    oh and Gavin

How'd you get the opportunity to do this? Great connections or what? I'd love to be able to do something like this on the side but I'm not sure where to start.

    For the most part, yeah.

I shot for a school paper.
The adviser for the paper told us about a summer job at a local paper.
I got the job at the local paper.
It turned into more than a summer job.
The company that owns the paper also promotes sporting events.
They came to town with the AVP and asked me to shoot it.
I shot it and made contacts with the parent company.
Parent company liked me and I told them to look me up if they needed a photographer.
They needed a photographer and they called me up.

    :hs:
