the only thing you can do is either drive it stock or sell it for something else

modding a 2.0 mk4 is completely pointless unless you are allergic to money

Sell it and buy a 1.8T

If that's not an option, buy a cup kit, some 17" wheels, and some really good tires...... At least it'll handle decently.

go further. get fk coilovers (900) and then get 18s (your choice, price range) and then tires. if you want to go even further get a votex body kit (1k w/o paint). if you do all that youll have a show car, however, dont get wheels if you dont plan on lowering it.

Coilovers are useless for 99.9% of all people. They are more expensive, will give you a MUCH harsher ride, are higher maintenance and as a trade you get to slam your car - which most people won't do ever. They set their height and leave them there. :hsugh:

In all honesty the 2.0l motor is one of the most bullet proof motors VW has built. Older 2.0l motors use to be turboed up 21lbs on stock everything and own alot of cars out there. If you like the car and are willing to spend a little money doing a turbo kit or super charger will make it a bit more of a fun ride. And as someone has stated before VWVortex would be the place to look. Just remember what everyone says there is not gospel. But then again this is all up to you. Your car your choice.

Things you can do, just a list to add to what everyone has said:

    Suspension:
shocks and springs (cup kit)- $400+
    Coilovers- $800+
    Rear Sway Bar- $200+

    exterior:
    Front Bumper
    Rear Bumper
    Side Skirts
    lips
    spoiler
    headlights
    Tail lights

    Wheels:
17 or 18'', whatever you like

    Brakes:
With spindle swap ($400 or so)
    12.3 or larger fronts
    9.1 or larger rears

    Interior:
    Guages
    Leather Swap
    Black headliner swap
    LED lights
    Shift boot and knob upgrade
    Stereo

    Engine:
    Light weight pullies
    Lightened flywheel
    turbo or supercharger
    short shifter
    clutch upgrade
    cams
    chip

All of these will make the car more fun to drive. There is a cost associated with everything though, and YOU will have to decide what is worth if and what isn't. I have dropped 12k+ into my MK4, but I think it is worth every penny for the upgrades I have.
