I installed a Apline CDA-7894 into a E36 M3. We got the head unit installed, and the tuner works fine. However when we put a CD or a MP3 CD in we get no sound. The display shows the CD playing, and equalizer shows it playing as well. What would cause this? We've been though every option and still no sound with the CD's but we can hear the Tuner fine.

You have the wrong wire connected to the amp turnon. Connect the blue/white wire from your alpine to the white wire on your M3. Right now you probably have the blue wire connected instead of the blue/white.

Heh, around 2 in the morning we found this out, but there wasn't an amp so we spliced the amp wire to the power antenna and then it worked. I don't get it, but I do know how much cleaner the sound is with just a new head unit. Thanks.
