Alpine is a good brand. Are you sure you need all the extra features it has? You might be satisfied with an Alpine that costs a little less, but still has the MP3 playback, etc.

I am with 042801 on this one. unless you are going for the aesthetics of the 9815, go for the 9813 for a good bit less.

I have the CDA-9807, it doens't have the fold down face, but does have bass engine, and mp3/wma playback. It sounds really nice, and the silver matches my car, so I have been extremely pleased with it. It's much nicer than my previous Clarion, but it lacks the ability to eject a CD with out the ignition turned on.

A spectrum analyzer is a little device that shows graphically the amount of output at a certain set of frequencies. For example, if you are playing a song with nothing but bass notes in it, you will only see the lowest bar in the spectrum analyzer light up. Or, if you play a song with nothing but a female's voice, you will probably only see the middle bars light up.

That was exactly what I was going to buy. It have everything you need, without being to much. I decided against it only to go to the next step up and get a phantom face.
