Of course, had we actually wrecked, I suspect that it would not be quite so funny in retrospect. A friend came by who had just installed his new Groupe M intake into his 04 M3, and I took a few pics and we went out for video. The roads were perilous at best, and at one point we fishtailed up onto the ice buildup next to a guardrail...but rather then ending super badly the car came back under control. For those interested, it happens in the first 30 seconds of the below video:

    http://www.ziplink.net/~ctroiane/gruppe/gruppem.mpg (7 MB)

Of course I also expect the useless self-righteous comments of the usual chest-thumping OT douches, but the fact is it doesn't look nearly as harrowing as it was as actually experienced. :sad2:

Oh, and pics of the intake for those that could give a remote fuck:

Unfortunately, the server seems slow as balls today. Just FYI.

Did you say it first, then the slide started, or did the slide occur first?

Your comments immediately before the incident are just dripping with irony.

I said it first, and then the slide began.

    edit -

Make that, I said it first, and then Mr. Brain Surgeon dropped the hammer.

Server started off at about 17KB/s :ugh: but ended at about 500kb/s :eek3:

EDIT: Pretty cool vid. That guy handled the slide pretty well. I probably would have been a little more concerned than that, haha.

gruppe M intake huh? Arent those like 1500 dollars or something rediculous like that? I like the AC schnitzer strut brace though, but the factory M3 brace would have been just as good and a HELL of a lot cheaper.

FYI: tell your friend to take back the intake and wait till turnermotorsports releases the M3 CSL intake. its going to be price roughly around 500-600 dollars and be tremendously more effective.

The Gruppe M cost him $800 for one that was on another M3 for 2000 miles before the owner sold it for an M5, so he didn't quite pay retail for the piece. He also, much like myself lately, is a bit disgusted with Turner Motorsport, so even if that CSL intake drops a 20 dyno-proven HP gain, it would be a tough dish of crow to actually get one.

That ACS bar is a piece of shit hinged worthless useless slice of nothing. But he gets to say he has some Schnitz on his car, and again that thing was sourced for something ridiculous like $350 brand new as he has an in with CEC. :)

    What's the matter with Turner?

Besides the fact that they finally sell a baseball hat but it looks :riaa:.

lol, I am never one for passing up a good deal on BMW parts. God knows I have hunted for days just to save 10 dollars on a certain part. :bigthumb:

That said and done, turner is coming out with a plethora of crap for the E46 M3. If you have access to the latest Roundel Mag. check it out. They do an article on the M3 CSL " turner" edition car.... that is pretty bad ass in my book.

Anyway though, major props to your friend for getting some good shit at very good prices! Although, he should use the ACS bar as a garden rake. MUCH more effective!!! :o

Why would he want the AC bar if it sucks, even if he got a good 'deal' on it?
