Yes I know. My best is a 13.98 @ 100. With my mods, it should be a little quicker, but it's still running on the stock tune. (deciding on FI vs. NA still).

And yes, the 4r70w is out as soon as it blows up. (which is just a matter of time now) :) The shift kit is realy doing a number on it.

Note to everyone who plans on keeping their auto: Do NOT get a transgo. It WILL melt your stuff into a smoldering pile of mush in less than a year. :rant2:

I'm back! :wiggle: The 69 RS/Z28 you see pictured here is my dad and my project car. It's a complete off frame NUMBERS MATCHING restoration. All the way down to the origional paint scheme. 14,000 origional miles. 302. The only modification is the Flowmaster American Thunder series exhaust and factory "optional" race headers.

I thought that this was a NUMBERS MATCHING restoration?

that means that you have to have correct date coated heads/exhaust manifolds, the works to claim NUMBERS MATCHING.

    how do I know? b/c I am doing one on a 1 of 1 70 Coronet R/T right now.

But for the chevvie guys, there is little documentation on them like the mopars.

jesus I guess everybodys shit here don't stink or something. good work OT for making a new guy feel welcome.

anyway welcome in, those are both nice cars, though I'm a GM guy myself.
Your trans shouldn't be going out that quick though, with those tall gears out back, just because you went with a shift kit. Are you sure you don't have some other problem with it? Those fords automatics were prone to converter shudder if the fluid hasn't been changed frequently, and they also tended to leak internaly, causing a low pressure condition.

Origional heads are there. We also still have the origional exhaust and manifolds. The headers that are on it were the factory options that the dealerships left in the trunk when the car was sold new. When / if we sell it we will change the exhaust back... but we just love the sound. :yum:

    Our Camaros history:
We got lucky when we found the car. The car was put away by its origional owner in 1973. He street raced the car for a year or two after he bought it new from Van Chevrolet here in KC, MO. The modifications were minimal. They included a new cam, and diffrent tires (the fenders were flaired poorly to fit them). It was never wrecked. He got tired of it after a while. "Everyone on his block had a big block" as he put it. So, he bought a new car to "play with." ('72 Chevelle SS 454) He set the Camaro aside after purchasing his Chevelle. He completly disasembled the Camaro all the way down to the frame thinking that when he "got back to the project" he would be able to start fresh. He never got back around to it.

The car sat (in pieces) in a dry, well kept barn until my dad discovered it in 2000. He then bought the car, and all the pieces that came with it. %100 of the origional car was retained. We rebuilt the engine completly, the frame was scrubbed, the fenders were fixed, and every single piece was given the utmost attention during the rebuild process. We completed our project in mid July 2002, as we debuted it at the Super Chevy Sunday rally here in KC. It took best in show. Since then our Camaro has won several awards. We considered selling it this year in the Barret Jackson auction... but we decided that we are going to keep it for another season or two.

Welcome and nice car, but it sits a little high for my tastes, could use some c-springs.
