I have very severe spring allergies.
    These include:
Trees, Pollen, Ragweed, Grass, Dust, Mold, Cats, Dogs, ....the list goes on....

I get frequent bloody noses, almost 4 a day. My nose is always congested, and my eyes are so red and bloodshot it looks like i smoked a lb of weed. The bottoms of my eyes are also puffy. They are so itchy and sore...i can barely open them in the morning.
Today i woke up with a "crust"...on my eyes..where i litterally had to get water to open them up!

I take claratin D 24 hr non-drowsey. I have had over 10 different medications and have taken allergy shots in the past.
Do you think i should start taking the shots again? They didnt seem to help in the past, but i am desperate for some relief. I can barely keep my eyes open when i lift and i feel like sleeping all day long.
I missed all my classes today because of my allergies!!!!

I took shots for 2 years and this is my first season that the doctor decided that I was ready to take a season off allergy shots. I just take a generic allergy medication as needed, but the shots seem to have eliminated the worst of my problems.

I get pretty bad too. I take 2 daily allergy meds: Zyrtec (similar to claritin) and flonase. I am "okay" with these. I still have a stuffy nose and am congested all day long, but it is "deal-able". However, if I get off my meds, I am a walking corpse. Tired, angry/aggitated, never ending sneezing/running nose, puffy eyes, etc... Going to school or work is a joke at that point.

I have considered shots, but since my allergies are pretty okay in the winter I never feel the need. I think next year I might start getting them though and see how it works.

A lot of people I know that move to more dry and mild climates tend to less allergy problems though. I have known people to move to southern Cali (San Diego area) and Arizona and have their allergy problems GREATLY reduced.

Here in Australia we have Beconayse Nose spray. Twice a day and it does wonders. No pills. No drowsiness. I still get red eyes though all the time and that sucks.

Im glad mine arent quite that bad most of the time, but I can relate. Id probably at least see a doctor again and see what he says.
