All those that were interested in writing an article for the first newsletter please contact either myself or Rob98ZJ via PM with your first article idea.

We'd like to see one article on the following:

    Hardware
    Software
    Networking
    Programming
    Linux/UNIX

Anything related to these topics would be great and of course if you have another idea, let us know. Of course multiple articles on those topics may be OK too. Think of something exciting and dynamic to ensure readers will want to read next month.

We'd like to get this show on the road.

I can write a great article on using Knoppix at work, so they won't notice that you spend all your time on OT. :hs:

I'm game.... are we writing for technically-savvy people or beginners? Or do you need a variety of stuff? I can do either/both.

Articles need to be tech-oriented, and easy to understand for tech n00bs that would like to read it.

Naturally we're not going to write an article on the USC/Michigan game yesterday. Try to stick to tech articles.

Not to sound confused here but are these three topics discussing the same newsletter?

    - All those interested in writing for the newsletter..
    - Subscribe to the OT - C&P mailing list
    - Another wacky idea from the office of Astro

    Yup.

    -- --

Topics I can write about -

    - PHP (just about anything)
    - Web (almost anything - be it coding to best practices to zip code plotting)
    - Silly stuff (making hard drive clocks, fish tanks out of monitors, litter boxes out of XT computers)
    - Home automation (X10)
Wardriving and maybe some wireless (not an expert at either though)
    - Consulting

Um, there's probably some other stuff but thats all I can think of at this moment. Trick is I'll need to be told what to write. So if there's something of interest in the above list, just PM me and say, "write [insert article idea here]".

very rough, very sketchy design idea for the NL.... yes I know it sucks but its a rough draft I banged out here. If you like it, let me know or tell me what you'd like to see and I'll try to keep working on it. I've been trying to get ahold of the font from the header so I'd maybe have something a bit cleaner to work with, but I'm not having much luck.

I am pretty new to OT but I am seriously jump starting my 'web advancement'. I have clocked about 7 years in Geekdom as a peasant and could probably throw together an article once in a while about something I am learning or have learned.

    Overclocking (Spent a weekend going from 1.8 w/ 266fsb -> 2.2 w/ 295 fsb) it was my first time.
ASP .NET (I am currently learning to use it w. C#)
I also record music via PC so I could do articles about that.

My AIM is bretinux or bretgekko or email is [email protected]

Let me know if I can lend a hand.
