500 internal server error on all my sites, nothing has changed either, thanks HostGator
Happens from time to time.
Have tried contacting them?
And hope they are down from your server being overloaded with users. lol
Can you FTP in?
Kinda doubt that
can you stll access the folder sin ftp. maybe they locked you out. happened to me 2 days ago.
i can access all the folders, i just grabbed the error log, cant decipher it though, i think there lies a problem within the rss.php file though, that seems to be where the error is coming from, but i havent touched that file, ever.
the sites are all back up, heres the response from HG:
"There were a lot of current php processes run from your user(robb01), which made your account exceed the allocated per user cpu limit. If you use more than 25% CPU on the server, you will get a 500 error. I killed these running php processes, and now your site is working."
Can someone tell me how I can prevent this in the future? I don't even know how to check my php processes
Were you fucking with HTAccess recently? or chmod permissions on anything?
i was on one of my addon domains, i was trying to install a portal for phpbb3, it was only on that domain though, and it didnt work out, so i deleted all the portal files
maybe it's time to find a better host
I had to keep doing that until finally I have my own dedicated server.
It's not cheap, but it's definitely worth it.
ive never had a problem until this, im just wondering if there is a way that I could kill the php processes in the future
Check the access rights of your public_html directory - should be 750
You'd be happy with imountain.
dunno, upload a blank .htaccess file to your root, and see what happens
