I have configured each computer the way I want it (For college), and they are all about the same price, except the dell is 250 less because of their rebate offer. The Voodoopc is the only one that is a little different, as it has an AMD athlon processor. I configured each to be 3.2 ghz, 1 gig ram, the new ATI video card, etc.

Does anyone have any of these brands of notebooks? What do you think of them, and what advice would you have for me?

    TIA

This laptop is the best on the market for the price right now. It compares to all of the ones that you have listed for around $1000 less. Forget about the fact that it's an emachine and actually look at the specs on this thing.

get the dell 9100 not the xps. You dont need the p4EE chip, a normal P4 with hyper threading is fine.

personally, i would recommend getting a nice upgradable desktop and a small light notebook. if its for college you system will be outdated by the end of the year and with a laptop your stuck that way. you can always upgrade a desktop.

this man speaks the truth. however, if you're set on a hi-po notebook, i'd definitely get a Sager. They make Alienware's lappys, and if you buy from them, you don't have to pay for the Alienware brand name.

:werd: If this thing is mostly for school, you'll most likely want something with decent battery life, so i'd most likey get one with a centrino processor.

battery life is really of no importance to me... I would like to be able to update the video card later, so that eliminates the emachines. I wont be ordering anything until july, as I want to get the latest technology possible.
