Guy is saying it's Arsenal Bulgaria's rifle design fault but looks more like its probably an ammo issue to me :dunno:

So all that got fucked up was the dust cover and a broken follower?

That definitely looks like ammo to me though.

I have no idea what that guy just said. What exactly is different between semi-auto AKs and full auto AKs besides the auto sear and maybe a rate reducer?

Bolt is all the way forward and the hammer is free to strike the firing pin.

Bolt and carrier are not forward enough to safely fire so the tab on the backside of the carrier stops the hammer from striking the firing pin.

Bolt is in a locked position even if the carrier is not all the way forward. The bolt is flush with the chamber and locked. Both the carrier and the bolt are far enough forward to safely shoot. Not that I would recommend holding the bolt open 1/4th of an inch like that. It's not going to stay there if you let it go but it should be safe to shoot.

So unless Arsenal took off the tab on the back of his bolt carrier I don't see how it could have shot without the bolt in a locked position. I also didn't know Arsenal produced ammo

Yeah seems like an ammo issue to me, they do have the tab.

Bulgarian 5.45 WASP is from Arsenal.

SLR95 is 7.62x39 I think and I guess I assumed he meant newer ammo when he said "factory fresh." :dunno:

I also just saw on the AR15.com link that he was from Bulgaria so I have no idea what's available to them over there.

They make 7.62 also, don't think any of that was ever imported here, but they make ammo from 9mm mak to artillery shells.

:eek3: wow they do make a ton of it. Sucks that we'll probably never see any of it over here.

Wasn't there a story here a while ago where someone put 5.45 into a 7.62 AK and the round went off but no damage?

Don't remember if it happend to anyone here, but I've heard of it happening before usually just have to get the case out of the chamber. Heard of it happening to other guns as well like Glocks.

So he's blaming the gun and not the ammo? Hope the ammo was OK, I just ordered a can of the WASP from AIM.
